I’ve spent my entire life loving and playing with hair. Over 30 of those years, I’ve been in the professional natural hair industry. I LOVE doing hair. I LOVE my clients and all of the people I ever worked with in this industry. I deeply know I am in my purpose, because this is how I connect with other human beings. So, I took it as a personal mission when I realized how many of us suffer sensitivities from the unchecked fragrances, chemicals, and petroleums saturating the beauty industry that I LOVE. As a stylist, I was experiencing headaches and chronic dryness on my hands from exposure to the same products all the time. When I talked with my clients about these issues, I noticed practically every person had similar reactions and shared the desire to use minimal and natural products in their hair. I had to find a replacement for the items I used the most: scalp oil (most of these retailed products are petroleum based), and twisting/braiding cream (most of these products are made with lots of fragrances and cheap oils). 

 

As a hands-on DIY person (so many of us hair-artists are), I love to make and experiment with recipes until I think they are perfect! I’m happy to share the recipes that survived and thrived in my circles over the past decade of experimenting with the simplest plant based ingredients. These hair and skin formulas are based with shea butter, jojoba oil, aloe or modified combos of these three amazing ingredients. Now, when I’m doing hair, my hands are getting moisturized and my career no longer gives me headaches! Plus my clients love them!
